Giving Back

Giving back is something that’s always on our minds at Hey Ted and is one of our top priorities. We have time, we have talent. We have resources and connections. And we want to use them for good.

One of the things we pride ourselves on is making sure we do our part to reduce waste on set. We create a lot of food and beverage content and we make it a point to donate our unused food and beverage items to local food pantries and those in need. Leftover, used or damaged wardrobe and textile items? We’ll find a home for those too! There’s always someone in need and we want to help.

Hey Ted has been fortunate enough to collaborate with some amazing groups over the years, but we’re always looking to spread the love and find new opportunities to put good back into the world outside of just financial support. If you’re looking for creative support but don’t know where to start, send us an email! We’d love to help you.

Camp Rising Sun

Camp Rising Sun is a summer camp in central Connecticut where kids with cancer can go and focus on what’s most important: being kids. The Camp staff are a mixture of cancer survivors, nurses, doctors, medical professionals, and general cancer-haters with a passion and vitality for life that can’t be contained. This week-long experience gets kids with cancer and kids who’ve conquered cancer together to partake in activities like kayaking, ropes courses, arts and crafts, and more, all under the mindful eye of the trained medical staff and volunteer counselors.

Camp means a lot to the Hey Ted family, and if you’re interested in hearing about our involvement or want to learn more about Camp, send us an email or visit camprisingsun.com to see how you can help.

Congenital heart defects are some of the most common types of birth defects, and while CHDs can be treatable, it takes a lot of love and support to make sure babies and their families have what they need.

Sophia’s Healing Hearts are small fabric hearts that get placed inside a parents clothing during their hospital stay with their baby, and get left with the child after visiting hours are over. A baby’s sense of smell develops early, and infants recognize the scent of their family and caregivers, so Sophia’s Healing Hearts bring that familiar and comforting scent children during their hospital stay.

Hey Ted helps to create Healing Hearts in memory of beautiful baby Sophia who lost her battle with a congenital heart defect, but whose memory lives on in our hearts, and who inspires us to be the best versions of ourselves each and every day.

To learn more about Sophia’s Healing Hearts or to help support others in their fight against CHDs, send us an email and we’ll point you in the right direction!
